Heat Index has been delivering high-impact contemporary jazz in the Kansas City area for the past five years. As a horn and guitar driven jazz-funk group, they capture the mesmerizing groove and musical innovation of fusion while remaining true to their R&B roots. The band combines fresh original music with extraordinary fusion remakes, resulting in their wide audience appeal.

David Parsley (sax), Rick Gibson (guitar), Frank Goddard (bass) and Doug Gunn (drums) make up the nucleus of Heat Index. The band performs regularly around town, often joined by such special friends and guest artists as Al Pearson, Paul Roberts, and Clint Ashlock.
